Michael Beecher

Michael Beecher, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, is a board-certified orthopedic and sports clinical specialist, Titleist Performance Institute medical professional, Hospital for Special Surgery–credentialed Advanced Hip Clinician, and certified dry needling specialist. As the Residency Director for Performance Optimal Health’s Orthopedic Residency Program, Michael draws from his advanced postgraduate training and academic experience to educate and mentor residents toward becoming skilled, evidence-driven, and well-rounded physical therapists.

Michael completed an intensive sports residency program with the Steadman Hawkins Clinic following his graduation from Sacred Heart University, where he played Division I soccer. His residency training serves as the foundation for the structure and educational philosophy of Performance Optimal Health’s Orthopedic Residency Program, emphasizing advanced clinical reasoning, performance-based care, structured mentorship, and progressive autonomy.

After completing his residency, Michael returned to Sacred Heart University as an adjunct professor and has published research in multiple physical therapy publications. He is passionate about serving as an educator both in and out of the clinic and enjoys working with patients to close the loop between injury and recovery from start to finish.

In addition to his role as Residency Director, Michael serves in a leadership capacity at Performance Optimal Health, supporting clinical growth and innovation across the organization, and is a member of the Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network Advisory Board.
