If the athlete gets a concussion during a practice or game, the athletic trainers, sports certified physical therapists, and emergency first responders will perform immediate injury management and triage to determine course of action. Once they are evaluated, appropriate steps will be taken to ensure the athlete receives proper care by the appropriate medical professionals, specific to the state of the athlete. If sustained outside of practice or games, consult a healthcare professional immediately.

For any injuries that occur during a practice or game, our athletic trainers, sports certified physical therapists, and emergency first responders will be there to immediately assess the injury in real time and provide appropriate care. The Performance team will help families facilitate and communicate with physicians and therapists should continuing care be necessary and will guide the athlete and family to ensure a safe return to sport through appropriate protocols.

The Athletic Performance Screening is a comprehensive assessment performed by a physical therapist that assesses range of motion, flexibility, strength, and movement proficiency in order to identify risk factors that may lead to injury or inhibit optimal performance. The specialists at Performance will conduct these screenings proactively and complimentary for all Darien Junior Football League athletes. Should an athlete sustain an injury, Performance offers priority booking, allowing for same-day management of injuries.
